Analysis of antioxidant activity of phytochemicals of some medicinal plants by invitro methods

Abstract

Antioxidant plays an important role in inhibiting and scavenging free radicals, thus, providing protection to human against infection and degenerative diseases. Now the modern research is directed towards Natural antioxidants from the herbal plants due to safe therapeutic values. In the present investigation the Antioxidant activity of extracts from medicinal plants such as Acalypha indica, Azadirachta indica, Euphorbia hirta, Fiscus religiosa, Pongamia pinnata and Thespesia populnea are evaluated for its free radical scavenging activity by adopting various invitro methods. The extracts were investigated for the antioxidant activity using reducing capacity, Hydroxyl group reducing activity and DPPH methods and the phytochemicals contents such as alkaloids, carbohydrate, flavonoids, glycosides, phenolic contents, proteins, reducing sugers, sapinins, steroids, tannins, and terbinoids, were analyzed qualitaively.

Isolation, identification and diversity of fruit degradating soil fungi

Abstract
The studies on the diversity of fruit degradating soil fungi from Pudukkottai district. To assess the density of fungal flora. To isolate and identify the fungi from the soil with fruit degrading materials along some physic-chemical parameters like temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, organic carbon nitrogen, phosphours, potassium magnesium, sodium, zinc, copper of fruit degradating soil sample during the year 2015. It has been estimated that 2.3 million fungal species are present in natural eco system, but only 5-10 percent have been formally. For the important functional role of fungi in soil samples include Alternaria alternata, Aspergillus awamori, A.candidus, A.flavus, A.fumigatus, A.terreus, A.luchuensis, A.sydowii, Cunninghamella sp, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium solani, Fusarium sp, F. oxysporum, Gliocladium virens, Penicillium citrinum, P. griseofulvum, P. longibracteatum, P. lanosum, Rhizopus stolonifer, Rhizopus sp. Trichoderma harzianum T. koningii, T. viride and T. bractiatum.
